PORTRAIT PAINTING "Hat But No Hair" by Gabriella Godwin

Portrait painting "Hat But No Hair" is one of my favorite works by the artist.

It is very simple but highly sophisticated artwork. Enigmatic I would say.   

It is a very good decorative style with highlights of colour to some details: hat and dress. 

There is a small story behind this work - this painting is a self-portrait of the artist after she found she had cancer and subsequently lost her hair during her treatment. She then treated herself to a few new hats and still enjoyed being a woman.

Very strong figurative painting. Would make a lovely focal point for any interior. Also makes a fabulous present.
