ARTIST STATEMENT

Light and colour are the basic material of my painting. They are not only mediators of optical information, but become my means to move my view of memories, imagination and nature. Besides, is above all important to me, to express my emotions and experiences. Thus originate „mood pictures" which sometimes ignore concrete reality and, instead of it, make free associations possible.

A certain distance still exists between me and the pictures from which it´s beauty founded on harmony results. This becomes recognizable in my thin colour order and at the fact that I renounce impetuous painting acts or "all over painting". I have rather deliberated compositions which should less provoking than rather look calm and compensatory. With it the pictures should inform the viewer immediately of a poetic basic mood and of restrained beauty. 

In my abstract pictures lines, points and surfaces are important components, but not in order to limit the form. If 

I help myself to a line, a point or a surface, this serves the function of colour and light. The wide image planes, the picturesque signs and also the colour spots, stand in connection with colour and light. Thus everything seems to extend or to flow into each other without giving up the dimension of the surface. The colour dissolved in the surface and the light provided indications, sounds and vibrations. 
I try this also in my concrete pictures. In portraits or landscapes I orientate myself by that what I see, but I see it in the context with the surroundings and the atmosphere of the sceneries. This can lead to the fusion of the figure or objects with the surface or backround and sometimes even to their resolution. 

The differentiation between concrete and not concrete is not always possible. However, it is also not important for me. The abstract result is the result of the indirect dialog with the real object, with the possibility that it changes in the end up to unrecognizability. 

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

I am born on 19.12.1963 in Bielefeld (Germany). Since I went to school, I have been interested very much in art and have started, signing and painting. During the last 10 years I discovered my love for the oil painting and ventured with it in the general public. In the meantime, I have been taken up in the art association " open studios Bielefeld ". I live and work in Bielefeld.
